Can any wall hold a TV?
Most walls can support a TV with the right mounting method. Brick and concrete are ideal. Stud walls
need the bracket fixed to studs, not just plasterboard. Very large TVs on plaster walls may need
additional reinforcement. Your installer will assess and recommend the best approach.
What height should the TV be mounted?
The centre of the screen should be at eye level when seated – typically 100-120cm from the floor.
Above a fireplace is popular but often too high for comfortable viewing. Your installer can help
determine the best position for your room.
How do I hide the cables?
Options include running cables inside the wall (requires a licensed electrician for power cables),
surface-mounted cable covers painted to match, or positioning furniture to conceal cables. In-wall
concealment gives the cleanest look but costs more.
Should I get a fixed or swivel bracket?
Fixed brackets are cheapest and sit closest to the wall. Tilting brackets let you angle the screen
down – useful if mounted high. Full-motion (swivel) brackets allow you to pull the TV out and turn
it for different viewing positions – great for corner mounting or open-plan rooms.
